Increasingly, our clients are asking us to help them figure out how to better leverage all the data and information at their disposal—both internally and externally generated. This is not surprising. According to a 2010 MIT data analytics study of 3,000 business executives and analysts, 53 percent of respondents say they do not have access to information needed to do their jobs from across the organization. McKinsey Global Institute reported in 2011 that 'Big Data' is the next frontier for innovation, competitiveness and productivity. Both documents are available for download on the left side of this page.
Often, the goal is simply to get out of information overload and make sense of all the information they have. Or, to improve the way information is collected, managed and shared across the enterprise. The end benefit is typically improved productivity, cost savings, and related benefits.
In other cases, clients are looking to leverage rich sets of data and information in order to be more innovative. In other words, they want to explore with us how to create new lines of business and/or new products and services oriented to information management. Or, they want us to help build and manage new platforms that enable collection of new information and insights in unique ways that have the potential to identify groundbreaking business opportunities and strategies.
