Lodestar Begins Partnership With ConvergeUS To Leverage The Collective Power Of The U.S. TechnologyFor More Accelerate Game-Changing Progress On Critical Social Issues
Princeton, NJ, August 1, 2011 -- Lodestar has announced a partnership with a new nonprofit called ConvergeUS, whose mission is to leverage the collective power of the technology sector to accelerate social innovation in collaboration with nonprofit organizations, government entities, academic institutions and the private sector.
ConvergeUS was formed by TechNet, a bipartisan network of technology CEOs
that promotes the growth of the innovation economy, announced the creation of
ConvergeUS. The new organization will function as a facilitator and convener to bring
diverse stakeholders together to create a “Technology Innovation Blueprint” that
focuses on purposeful applications of technology and social media.
The ConvergeUS board includes Rey Ramsey – CEO of TechNet, Biz Stone – Co-founder
of Twitter, Kaboom! CEO Darrell Hammond, Cisco Systems Senior Vice President of
Corporate Social Responsibility and Corporate Affairs Tae Yoo, technology entrepreneur
Kim Polese, among others. Senior governmental representatives are also active,
including former White House Deputy CTO Andrew McLaughlin, White House Director of
Social Innovation Marta Urquilla, and former NASA astronaut Leland Melvin.
