Senior Advisor
Yariv Alpher is a seasoned strategist and researcher whose work has focused on brand positioning and architecture, voice of customer initiatives, supporting innovation and concept/product development, and optimizing the marketing mix. He’s experienced in a variety of industries, including IT, financial services, media and CPG, and has a wealth of international experience, having led initiatives in the U.S., Europe, Japan, India, China, Latin America and the Middle East. Yariv is also a distinguished fellow at the Ponemon institute, one of the nation’s leading centers for research on privacy, data protection and information security.
Previously, Yariv served as Chief Research & Customer Insights Officer at Lodestar. Earlier in his career, he was Vice President of Marketing Research at CA Technologies (formerly Computer Associates). Yariv established the market research function at this F500 technology leader, supporting all business units globally, and was closely involved with CA’s turnaround, rebranding and the increased focus on cloud computing and virtualization.
Still earlier, Yariv ran his own market research and brand consultancy – radarears - working with such clients as AOL, Bowker, Haystack Media and Hagar, and was a Senior Project Manager with Insight Research Group, where he handled key flagship clients, including MTV, Food Network, and Mellon Financial. He began his career Prior as Vice President of Communications for Instinet (a Reuters company at the time), where he led all relationship marketing efforts, online marketing, market research and branding.
Yariv earned a BA in History and Philosophy from Tel Aviv University and an MA in Social Sciences from the University of Chicago. He received a second Masters in Sociology from The New School, where he also completed his Ph.D. coursework in Sociology. In his academic work, Yariv focused on the evolution of consumer communities, as well as on the dynamics of complex emotions, such as alienation, stress and (dis)association.
Yariv lives with his wife and two children in Westchester County, New York.
